Mrs. Flomer’s class notes for the week of May 18th!
Here’s a look at what we will be doing this week! There are changes in Spelling and Reading due to the Spring Musical and the upcoming 4-day weekend.
Spelling- The words for this week are: mix, mixed, hop, hopped, hope, hoping, run, running, use, used. There will be a spelling test on this week’s words next Wednesday (5/ 27). Sentences are due by Thursday this week. The original spelling list says that the sentences are due by Wednesday but since we have our Musical on Tuesday night, I am giving the children an extra day.
Phonics -ed and –ing endings; long e spelling patterns- y,ie
Language Arts- exclamations
Reading: We will read the story The Dot this week. The children should read it again at home. The Reading test will not be given until next Wednesday, 5/27.
Math- adding 2 digit numbers; repeated addition
Social Studies- good citizens
Science- Class trip to the Planetarium!
Class News
Tuesday 5/19- Spring Musical at 7 pm. Please have your child in the classroom by 6:45. They should wear dressy clothes.
Wednesday 5/20: Class trip to the Planetarium- Please send a bagged lunch to school (with drinks and snacks) as we will be eating lunch there, weather permitting. The children may dress down (play clothes) for our trip.
Friday 6/12: Picnic at Syosset/Woodbury Park for K-5
We will meet at the Park. More information will be sent home soon. If you have not already done so, please send in the T-shirt money ($5) and shirt size.
