Mrs. Flomer’s School Notes for the week of June 9th.

It’s almost over! It is hard to believe that these are our last days of school! The school year went by so fast! There will be a few more tests this week as we wrap up the year.

Tuesday- Science test on Chapter 8- study sheets were sent home last week. We have done a lot of reviewing in class.

Wednesday:   End of Year Reading test- there is no preparation for this test. It is given to see what concepts the children grasped this year.

All hardcover books must be returned to your school district, unless you are a Hicksville resident. The consumable workbooks are yours to keep! If you are a Hicksville resident, please make sure that you do not have any hardcover books at home. They need to be returned to school. I sent home Reading Book 1 and Science today (Monday)

Please encourage your child to read daily over the summer. It is so important to continue to strengthen their skills to help them be successful in Second Grade! I am so proud of this class, and how far they have come, especially with their reading and writing skills!

We are looking forward to our picnic this Friday (6/13). We will all meet at the park by 10 am. Bring lunch and a drink for you and your child!

Next Wednesday (6/18) is our last day, and dismissal will be at 12 noon!

A special thank you to our class moms for all their help this year: Mrs. Stair, and Mrs. Abeles!! They made our school celebrations very special!

Mrs. Frampton and I would like to thank you for sharing your children with us this year. We have enjoyed this class, and all the unique personalities! It has been such a successful year, and the children have achieved so much. I hope that they enjoyed their first grade experience as much as I enjoyed teaching and loving them! We wish them all the best next year in second grade.

Blessings,

Mrs. Flomer
