Here’s a look at what we will be doing this week!
Spelling- The new words for this week are: play, grain, sail, mail, may, rain, way, day, stay, pain. The children will write their 10 spelling words 3x each by Tuesday. They should write 6 sentences by Wednesday. Spelling test will be on Friday. We will begin to write 8 sentences each week beginning next week!
Phonics- ai, ay words; contractions ‘ll and ‘d
Language Arts- names of months, days, holidays
Reading: We will read the story Where Does Food Come From? The children will read it again at home. The reading tests will be on Friday.
Math- chapter 10- graphs
Science- Food Chains
Social Studies- work and jobs
1AA News
Nicholas is our Reader of the week!
A permission slip went home for our class trip to see The Wizard of Oz at the Bellmore theater on April 1st. Please return it with the money by 3/25.
A note will be going home soon about the Easter Brunch that we will be having on March 31st in our classroom. I will need a couple of parents to come help out that morning.
Reminder: The first graders are singing in church this Sunday at the 10:30 service. They are also doing the chapel service this Wednesday. All are welcome at 8:40!
