Welcome to Mrs. Flomer’s class notes. Here’s a look at what we will be doing this short week:

Spelling- The new words for this week are: haul, saw, paw, cause, claw, dawn, moon, soup, love, and friend. Since we have fewer school days for the next 2 weeks, we will not have any tests this week. The spelling test will be given on Friday, June 2nd.

Reading- The new “R” book words are: brother, father, friend, love, mother, picture. We will focus on the digraphs: au, aw, augh; vowel-team syllables;antonyms; possessive pronouns; capitalization for the next 2 weeks. The reading test will also be given on Friday, June 2.

Math- We started chapter 14- 3 dimensional shapes
The most challenging math lessons are behind us for this school year!

Social Studies- Unit 5- One Nation, Many People

Science- Composting

The first graders will be presenting the chapel lesson this Wednesday. Please review your child’s lines with him/her before Wednesday. The chapel service is at 8:30am so please have your child to school by 8:15. Parents are welcome to come to chapel.

The students only have 3 days of school this week. There is no school on Thursday and Friday. The teachers have a professional development day on Thursday. School is also closed on Monday for Memorial Day. Trinity’s marching band will be marching in the Hicksville parade on Monday. Enjoy the long weekend!
