Here’s a look at what we will be doing this week:
SPELLING- The new words are: cow, mouse, out, born, nothing, town, how, mouth, roar, early. The words and 5 sentences should be completed by Thursday. Test on Friday.
PHONICS- The focus will be on writing words with blends, non fiction text, and the TH sound.
READING- We will read fiction stories this week. We’ll focus on ou and ow sounds, Y as a vowel, -er and -est endings, and suffixes -or, ful, less, and -ly. We will also use the words an, a, this and that in sentences. The test will be on Friday.
MATH- Chapter 12 will be completed and we will have review days. The test will be given on Wednesday, 5/3.
SOCIAL STUDIES- Daily life, past and present
SCIENCE- Night Sky
RELIGION- Book 9- Tell About Jesus
NEWS
Just a reminder to please send in the permission slip and $20 for our class trip to the Cradle of Aviation. We need your payment (and permission slip) by Monday as we have to pay for the bus and the show ahead of time. We will be leaving Trinity at 9:30 a.m. and returning by 12:30 for lunch. The children are very excited to go on this educational trip together! It ties into what we have been learning in Science about the Day and Night Sky.
The children will take their spelling and reading tests that morning before we leave for the trip.
This Friday is Wingo night! There will be so many fabulous prizes and fun will be had by all!
