Hello Parents,
Welcome to the third week of Pre-K! The children are continuing to learn the routine and are adjusting quite nicely.
We will continue the first theme, “Ready for School!” with the unit called “Learning Together.” BIG Idea: I work and play with my friends at school. Knowledge Focus: Children learn the expectations, routines, and behaviors of school. Social-Emotional Focus: Cooperation. Vocabulary Theme Words: learn, partners, together.
We will be learning the letter Cc, #3, the color green and rectangle.
We will be reading the books “The Pledge of Allegiance”, “My Friends” and “Mouse’s First Day of School.”
For Jesus time, we will be continuing to sing the songs, “Jesus loves me” and “My God is so Great” which we learned last week. We will also continue learning about Creation and will explore days 3,4 and 5.
This week we will have art on Wednesday and we will also be reading the “My Feelings” Scholastic Weekly Reader. We will also have a special visit from Johnny Appleseed tomorrow and the children will be able to listen to the story of Johnny Appleseed. We will also continue to discuss apples and their characteristics.
I will be sending homework packets out on Monday which will be due on Friday.
