Hello Parents,
I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend! This week is spirit week.
Monday- Pajama Day
Tuesday- Crazy Hair/Hat Day
Wednesday- Disney Day (The children can wear their princess dresses or other Disney themed outfits)
Thursday- Trinity Colors Day (The children can wear red and white or their Trinity t-shirt-if they have one)
Friday- Pumpkin Day (Dress as a pumpkin or wear orange)
Reminders:
– Please remember to complete the daily attestations each morning prior to coming to school.
-If you are planning on sending in goody bags for Halloween, please make sure there are 12 for the entire class and that any treats are store bought and individually wrapped. Trinkets and other non food items are also welcomed!
-I will be putting together an online class book showcasing each child for each family to learn about the students in our class. Please send me a private message answering the following questions about your child:
1. Who is in your family?
2. What do you do for fun at home?
3. What do you want to be when you grow up?
4. What is your favorite color?
5. What is your favorite animal?
We are continuing the theme, “My Family” and the third unit is called “Family Fun.” BIG Idea: I share special times with my family. Knowledge Focus: Children learn about family members, family roles, and the unique qualities of families. Social-Emotional Focus: Kindness. Vocabulary Theme Words: celebrate, holiday, relatives, thankful and together. Story Words: celebrations, delicious, greens, plump, ripe and tuck. Math Words: fewer, greater, less and more. Social Studies Words: play, work. Science Words: gas, liquid, solid.
We will be learning the letter Gg, #7, the color black and hexagon.
We will be reading the books “What mommies do best/What daddies do best”, “Too Many Tamales” and “My Day from A to Z”.
For Jesus time, we will be learning about Jacob and Rachel having a baby.
Specials:
Art: Wednesday from 11-11:42
Physical Education: Thursday from 12:30-12:50
Critter Room: Every other Wednesday (we will have one of our upstairs teachers bring some animals from our Trinity Critter Room downstairs to our classroom for the children to learn about.)
This week we will be reading the “4321 Vote!” Scholastic Weekly Reader.
I will be sending homework packets out on Monday which will be due on Friday.
Scholastic book club magazines will be sent out this week.
