Hello Parents,
I hope everyone had a nice long weekend.
We are beginning a new theme this week, “My Family” and the first unit is called “Who’s In My Family.” BIG Idea: I am an important part of my family. Knowledge Focus: Children learn about family members, family roles, and unique qualities of families. Social-Emotional Focus: Kindness. Vocabulary Theme Words: brother, family, father, grandfather, grandmother, kindness, mother and sister. Story Words: busy, camouflage, enemy, feast, twirl and twist. Math Words: circle, corner, rectangle, side, square and triangle.
We will be learning the letter Ee, #5, the color orange and oval.
We will be reading the books “Bear’s Busy Family”, “Herman the Helper” and “Daddy Calls Me Man.”
For Jesus time, we will be learning about Abraham. We will also have our first chapel lesson which will be held in the classroom instead of the church chapel.

Physical Education: Thursday from 12:30-12:50
This week we will be reading the “Parts of a Pumpkin” Scholastic Weekly Reader. We will also have a special visit from the Trinity Comfort Dog, Abraham.
I will be sending homework packets out on Monday which will be due on Friday.
Thank you to those who placed orders with Scholastic, your books will be sent to the school and I will send them home in your child’s backpack.
