Hello Parents,
This week please look out for a sign up sheet for our Valentine’s Day red party. It will take place on Friday, February 14th; please have your child wear red on this day. We will be visiting the critter room in our building on Monday to learn about various animals and their characteristics. For those of you who signed up, there is the kindergarten visit on Wednesday from 9:15-10:15.
Please send in money for the World’s Finest chocolate fundraiser as you have it. Thank you for your support of our school!
We made our individual class predictions on Friday as to whether the groundhog will see his shadow, the results are graphed outside our classroom. The restyle are in and…the groundhog did not see his shadow which means there will be an early spring!
We are beginning a new theme called, Imagine It Make It. The first unit is entitled, Using My Imagination.
BIG Idea: I can imagine all kinds of things. Knowledge Focus: Children learn how imagination and creativity shape our world. Social-Emotional Focus: Initiative. Vocabulary Theme Words: create, imagination, imagine, pretend and visualize.
This week we will be reviewing letters A-Q, numbers 1-16, and all the shapes that we have learned. We will be learning the letter Rr this week and the number 17. We are continuing to learn sight words which is the beginning step for early reading.
Stories: Not a Box, Ten Black Dots and Feast for 10.
Jesus Time: We are going to chapel this week and we will also be learning about the baptism of Jesus.
Pizza envelopes will be sent home on Monday and are due back on Thursday morning.
