Hello Parents,
This week we are starting a new theme, My family. This week’s unit is entitled, We Take Care of Each Other. We will be continuing to discuss who is in each child’s family. The vocabulary for this unit includes: caring, cousins, feelings and love.
We will be learning about the letter Ff, diamond, the color purple and the number six. Mathematically, we will introduce: Measuring Lengths, Comparing Lengths • Review: Counts Objects. We will be reading several books including: Mama Zooms, Herman the Helper, Too Many Tamales, My Day From A to Z and various seasonal books.
For Jesus time, we will continue to sing the songs: Jesus loves me, the B-I-B-L-E and My God is so Great. We will be learning about Abraham and the promise God made to him.
We will be baking a pumpkin bread this week as well as carving a pumpkin to see what is inside.
Homework packets will be coming home on Monday and are due back on Friday. Please send in any communications, money, etc. inside your child’s folder inside of placing it loosely in their backpacks.
Pizza envelopes will be sent home on Monday and are due back on Wednesday.
Please dress your child with clothing appropriate for the weather, we will be going out twice a day unless it is raining or the temperature drops below 40 degrees. Also for safety reasons, please have your child wear sneakers.
The “About Me” class book has begun circulating in the class, every child will have a turn to bring the binder home to learn about their friends. If you haven’t done so, please send in your child’s “about me” story and their picture to be included.
Please remove any papers that come home in your child’s folder daily, some are time sensitive.
Yankee Candle Fundraiser is in progress, please send in any orders.
Please lookout for the signup sheet for our class Halloween party. It will be posted outside our classroom this week.
