Hello Parents,
I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend. This is a short week due to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, holiday on Monday and daytime parent teacher conferences on Friday. Thank you for signing up for your 15 minute time slot for parent teacher conferences this week. We are continuing to riding tricycles in the small gym each day, please send in a bicycle helmet for your child to wear. Also, please send in money for the World’s Finest chocolate fundraiser as you have it. Thank you for your support of our school! In addition, if you are invested in having your child screened for speech, please send the form in this week. The screening will take place on Monday, January 27th.
We are continuing our theme called, Awesome Animals. The third unit is entitled, Creepy Crawly Insects.
BIG Idea: I am very curious about bugs. Knowledge Focus: Children learn about life science through the exploration of animals and animal life cycles. Social-Emotional Focus: Attention
This week we will be reviewing letters A-O, numbers 1-15, and all the shapes that we have learned. We will be learning the letter Pp this week and the number 16. We are continuing to learn sight words which is the beginning step for early reading.
Vocabulary Theme Words: bug, crawl, insect, pinch, stinger, stings, swarm and wings
Stories: Bugs!, Bugs!, Bugs!, Over in the meadow, What do insects do?
Jesus Time: Learning about Jesus as a little boy
Please send in any communications, money, etc. INSIDE your child’s folder inside of placing it loosely in their backpacks.
There will be no pizza envelopes sent home this week because there is no school on Friday.
Please dress your child with clothing appropriate for the weather, we will be going out twice a day unless it is raining or the temperature drops below 40 degrees. Also for safety reasons, please have your child wear sneakers.
Please remove any papers that come home in your child’s folder daily, some are time sensitive.
