Math Grade 6
We are beginning module 6, which covers ratios, rates, and solving proportions. There will be a quiz on Friday, 2/17. Extra help is Wednesday morning at 7:45.
Math Grade 7
This week we are continuing with Unit 4. This unit explores geometry. We have explored scale factors and ways to determine if a triangle is possible given angle and side measurements. Special pairs of angles such as complementary, supplementary, and vertical angles, and cross sections have also been explored. This week our focus will continue to be on angle relationships and cross sections. There is a quiz on Thursday, 2/16. Extra help is Wednesday morning at 7:45.
Pre-Algebra
This week we are continuing with linear functions. We learned how to write linear functions given two points. We also explored parallel and perpendicular lines. This led us up to graphing and solving systems of equations using substitution and elimination. This week our focus will be reviewing for our chapter test. The test is Thursday, 2/16. After the break we will be exploring systems involving word problems. Extra help is Wednesday morning at 7:45.
Algebra
We are starting Chapter 8. This chapter explores multiplying and factoring polynomials and binomials. Multiplying using FOIL will be covered. There is a quiz on Friday, 2/17 on lessons 8-1 through 8-4. Extra help is by appointment.
