READING- Lesson 19 asks the question, “What kinds of things could happen on a hike?” We will answer the question by reading,  Nicky and the Rainy Day, Sheep Take a Hike, The Three Billy Goats Gruff, and The Builder and the Oni.  Our high frequency words are, “go,” “here”, “soon”, “for,” “they,” and “up.” We will continue using decoding skills and apply the beginning and ending sound of “d” to decode new words. Additionally, we will learn about cause and effect, antonyms,(opposites), and verbs in the past tense. Continue to read with your child and have your child read for you, especially the stories in the student reader that will be sent home again this week. The stories in the reader will be, Go For It p. 62-67, and D is for Dad, p.68-73.

MATH- The shapes we will focus on are triangles and rectangles.

RELIGION- Jesus ascends back to heaven is our Bible story.

SCIENCE- The students will discuss animal communication.
