READING – We will learn the initial “v” and final “x” sounds, as well as the high frequency word “see,” read the mini book “The Vet Van,” categorize given objects, and answer inference questions.

MATH – Our focus is on learning the concept of subtraction and learning to write a subtraction sentence.

RELIGION – Jesus appears to his disciples, doubting Thomas, and Jesus returns to heaven are the Bible stories we are discussing.

SCIENCE – We are completing our chapter on landforms, ways we use water, air and soil, and ways to recycle, reuse, and reduce. We will have a test on THURSDAY, MAY 22.

We will also be discussing the life cycle of caterpillars and ladybugs.

SOCIAL STUDIES/SCHOLASTIC MAGAZINE – Our discussion will be on America and those who fought for our freedom.

HANDWRITING – Capital and small “V-v” and “X-x” will be practiced.

JOURNAL – Nothing new for this week.

REMINDERS:

The K-3 Musical, A Technicolor Promise, will be performed on Tuesday evening, May 20, at 7:00 P.M.. Students should arrive at 6:40 P.M. Wear RED shirts.

There is no school on Friday, May 23 and Monday, May 26 in celebration of Memorial Day.
