READING- The lessons in Unit 4 focus on General Science. This week we will answer the question “What do scientists study?” by reading a fantasy entitled Dear Mr. Blueberry, a poem, What Is Science? and a biography, Benjamin Franklin, Inventor. The stories that will be read in our own Readers are, “What Is It?” and “Fit in My Cab.” In addition we will blend words using the short and long “i” sound, learn the high frequency words, is, of, many, how, so and where, review main idea, and summary and learn the use of details. In grammer we will learn to differentiate a statement from a question, and learn the correct punctuation for each.

MATH- Chapter 8 teaches students to represent, count, and write numbers to 20 and beyond. This week we will model, count and write the number 20, count and order numbers to 20, and compare numbers to 20.

RELIGION- Our focus continues to be on the Easter message.

SCIENCE- The class is completing our study of living and non-living things. Our test will be on Wednesday, 4/15. A review sheet will be sent home for you use to help your child study.

SOCIAL STUDIES- Ben Franklin will be discussed.

HANDWRITING- Our letter this week is capital and lower case “I-i.

With the warm weather our class can once again go out to recess. Please be sure your child has a sweater or light jacket to wear.
