READING- Our essential question this week is, “What kinds of work do people do?” To help us answer this question we will read and discuss the stories Pizza at Sally”s, Everybody Works, The Elves and the Shoemaker, and The Lion And The Mouse. Our high frequency word is “and,” and we will learn to identify the sound for “m” in words. The class will also read in their Readers the stories, “Mm” and “I Like Mm.”  In addition we will classify words for jobs, practice fluency, and learn about verbs, ( words that show action).

MATH- We are completing our second chapter in Math and will have a test on Thursday, 11/9. Pages from our chapter will be sent home so you can help your child study.

SOCIAL STUDIES- Our topics will include Veteran’s Day, community helpers and their jobs, and Thanksgiving.

RELIGION- We will continue the story of Isaac and also discuss things for which we are thankful.

HANDWRITING- We will practice lines that slant left and right.
