READING- We are beginning Lesson 4. Our essential question is, “What kinds of work do people do?” To help us answer the question we will read “Pizza At Sally’s,” “Everybody Works,”  “The Elves and the Shoemaker.” and “Selling Things.” Additionally we will read “Mm” and “I like Mm.” Our high frequency word is “and”, and our sound for the week is the “m” sound at the beginning of a word. As we read we will pause for punctuation, categorize words for jobs, and learn and use verbs,( action words).

MATH- Chapter 3 explores representing, counting and writing numbers 6-9. This week we will focus on using a ten frame to discover that six is one more than five, and seven is one more than six. We will also learn different ways to make six and seven.

RELIGION- We will continue with the story of Abraham, Sarah, and Isaac.

SCIENCE- We will learn through experimentation which objects sink and float.

SOCIAL STUDIES- See last week’s blog .

HANDWRITING- We will practice capital and lower case “M-m”.

JOURNAL– I like ____ and _____, will be our Journal page.

REMINDERS-

Tuesday is pink day, and Wednesday is dress your BEST day. Uniforms are to be worn on Thursday and Friday.

Tuesday monthly folders will be sent home on 10/28.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

An educational system isn’t worth a great deal if it teaches young people how to make a living but doesn’t teach them how to make a life.

Have a great week!
