READING- Beginning and final “n” sound, comparing rhyming words, blending syllables, more alphabet review, the introduction of the high frequency word “my,” reviewing previously learned high frequency words, and reading and discussing the mini book “My School” will be our focus this week.

MATH- We are exploring numbers 1-5 and the different ways we can make groups, referred to as “hidden partners,” that add up to a specific number from 1-5.  Students will also discover that objects in different orientations do not change the total amount.

RELIGION- We are continuing with the story from last week.

SCIENCE- Our trip to the pumpkin farm will help us learn about how plants grow, specifically pumpkins, corn, radishes, and green beans, and that they are living things.

SOCIAL STUDIES- Our focus is on Christopher Columbus.

HANDWRITING- We are learning to write capital and lower case “n” on the lines. Please refer to the sheet given to you when assisting your child in forming these letters correctly on the lines.

JOURNAL- We will write and draw a picture for the words, “My School.”
