READING  We are completing our review of capital and lower case letter recognition, identifying rhyming words, syllable identification, distinguishing between letters and numbers, recognizing environmental print, and understanding story and poem content.

MATH Our focus is on using a five frame to model and count quantities of 3, 4, and 5. The class will also practice writing these numbers correctly on the lines.

RELIGION The students are completing the Creation story.

SOCIAL STUDIES We are reading about and discussing the importance of the historical figure, John Chapman, better known as Johnny Appleseed.

SCIENCE The growth of apples on apple trees, names of apples, and other apple related topics will be explored. At the end of the week we will taste test some apples, choose our favorite, and graph the results.
