READING – Our theme is animal homes. We will read the stories, Home for Tiger, Home for Bear, Turtle Splash, and Where Animals Live to help us learn about our theme. In addition we will learn the beginning “b” sound, continue blending phonemes, learn the past tense of verbs using the “ed” ending, and read our high frequency words “are” and “now.”
MATH- We are completing Chapter 6, on subtraction. Study pages and an information sheet will be sent home for you to use when helping your child prepare for the test. The test will be given THURSDAY, 3/5.
RELIGION- Our Bible story this week is Jesus stops the storm.
SOCIAL STUDIES- Our discussion this week will center around presidents and patriots, and American monuments.
HANDWRITING- We will be practicing capital and lower case B-b.
JOURNAL- We will write and draw a picture about our Polar Express experience.
REMINDERS
This week is “Read Across America.” Look for information about any special events to be sent home in your child’s folder.
Pay a DOLLAR and wear a crazy hat on Friday, 3/6.
