READING – Our next lesson has its focus on how our five senses help us learn about our world. In relation to this topic we will read the following stories: Listen, Listen,  My Five Senses, and poems about senses. The class will review the “m” and “s” sounds and be introduced to the short “a” sound as in apple and cat. The stories in our Readers are “Aa” and “I See.” Additionally the students will learn the difference between consonants and vowels, use sensory words to describe objects, read the high frequency word “see,” pause when reading for punctuation, and learn the use of a capital letter for the first word in a sentence, and a period for the end of a sentence.

MATH- On Wednesday, December 2, we will have a math test on Chapter 3. Study material was sent home with your child on Monday. Be sure your child can read the words, six, seven, eight and nine.

RELIGION- We are preparing our hearts for Jesus during this Advent season. This week we’ll hear how the angel visits Mary and gives her some very special news.

SOCIAL STUDIES- Our focus will be to learn about our location. Each student will memorize the name of our planet, our country, his/her full name, address, and phone number.

SCIENCE- Our Science this week will relate to our five senses which are being studied in reading.
