First through Eighth grade just finished their floor hockey unit and it was a blast!  In the lower grades, we were able to learn about offense and defense and what it means to play as a team.  The students gained an understanding on why it is important to pass and how to get open to receive passes.  The older students had a great time playing different positions.  Each student was able to be a goalie and take part in the face offs.  As always, it is the students’ enthusiasm that really make learning new skills and concepts fun.  In the Kindergarten class, we played games that incorporated the same ideas as floor hockey.  Students would use pool noodles to move objects around the gym and into specified areas.  I am looking forward to our next unit…Jump Rope for Heart!  The paperwork for that will be going home with the students shortly.
