Mrs. Flomer’s Notes for the week of January 9th.
Here’s a look at what we will be doing this week!
Spelling- The test for list 13 is this Tuesday. The new words for lesson 14 are: came, make, brave, late, gave, shape. The “R” book words are: four, over, two, five, starts, watch, into, three. The children will write their new spelling words 3x each for homework by Friday. They should write 6 sentences by next Tuesday, 1/17. The test for lesson 14 will not be given until Thursday, 1/ 19.
Phonics- long a, soft c, g, -dge, -ake, -ace
Language Arts- The tests for lesson 13 (“Seasons”) will be this Tuesday. Then we will read the story The Big Race this week. The children will read it again at home. Some of the skills include expression when reading, informative writing, verbs, conclusions, cause and effect. The reading tests for lesson 14 will be next Thursday, 1/19.
Math- test on chapter 5 this Wednesday, 1/11- practice test was given on Monday.
Science- complete chapter 3- test next Friday, 1/20
Study sheets will go home this week.
Social Studies- natural resources, recycling
Religion- Bible stories about Jesus
Weekly Reader- Volunteering at an animal shelter

Tuesday 1/10: Spelling and Reading tests on lesson 13 (Seasons)
Wednesday 1/11: Math test on Chapter 5
Thursday 1/19: Reading and spelling tests on Lesson 14 (The Big Race)
Please make sure that your child is completing his/her homework neatly each night. The homework should be checked and signed by a parent each night.
Pizza envelopes should be handed in by Thursday mornings!
