Welcome to Mrs. Flomer’s class notes!
Here’s a look at what we will be doing this week!
Spelling-The words for this week are: yes, let, red, ten, bed, get, after, read, draw, was, pictures, write. There will be a test on lesson 9 words next Tuesday, 11/22. The children will write all 10 spelling words 3x each for homework by Wednesday. (School is closed on Thursday for conferences). We will be writing sentences for our spelling words after Thanksgiving. I will start out slowly!
Phonics- short e, blends with s
Language Arts- singular and plural nouns
Reading: We will be reading “Dr. Seuss” this week. Our tests on lesson 9, “Dr. Seuss” will be given on Tuesday, 11/22. I will only be reading the questions to the children, not the choices anymore. The children will have to identify words that are opposites on the vocabulary portion of the test.
I know it has been confusing since we have so many days off in November and the tests are on a different day each week, but we will be back to Friday tests starting the week of 11/28.
Math- Chapter 3 test on Wednesday 11/16
Practice test on Tuesday
Religion- Daily devotions and bible stories
Science- Habitats
Social Studies- How people change land
1AA News
There is no school for the children on Thursday. I am looking forward to meeting with all of the parents at parent/teacher conferences! Please bring a list of the topics you would like to discuss to the conference with you so we can make the most of our time together.
As the weather gets colder, please make sure your child has enough warm outerwear as we try to go out each day to give the children a chance to run around.
