Welcome to Mrs. Flomer’s class notes!
Here’s a look at what we will be doing this week!
Spelling-We are doing lesson 7 this week, and the words are: in, will, did, sit, six, big. The vocabulary (“R” book) words are: animal, of, how, some, make, why. The children will write their 10 words 3x each by Wednesday. There will be a Spelling test on lesson 7 Thursday (11/3). School is closed on Friday.
Phonics- words with short i; r blends; -ip words
Language Arts- commas
Reading: We will read the story How Animals Communicate. The children will read it again at home. There will be Reading tests on Thursday (11/3). We will be learning about using a glossary and the children will be tested on their understanding of the following: entry words, meaning of a word
Math- addition strategies
Religion- Daily devotions and Bible stories from religion book 2. Book 1 went home last week.
Science- Habitats
Social Studies- Test on Unit 1- Wednesday
The book was sent home last Wednesday to review for the test.
Weekly Reader- How to be a Friend

Our Star of the Week is Amiah!
We are having a Fall Pumpkin Party on Monday. Thank you to our class moms for organizing it and to those who sent in goodies!
There is no school for the children on Friday. The teachers will be attending a professional conference at LuHi.
October morning work folders are going home this week.
Please ask your child if they are in need of any school supplies (pencils, glue, etc.) and send them in as soon as possible.
Please remember to check your child’s folder each night and remove the papers.
No pizza envelopes this week!
