Mrs. Flomer’s Notes for the week of January 15th.

Here’s a look at what we will be doing this week!

Spelling- The new words for this week are: came, make, brave, late, gave, shape. The “R” book words are four, over, two, five, starts, watch, into, three. The children will write their spelling words 3x each for homework by Wednesday. They should write 7 sentences by Thursday. Test will be given on Friday.

Phonics- long a, soft c, g, -dge, -ake, -ace

Language Arts- We will read the story The Big Race this week. The children will read it again at home. Some of the skills include expression when reading, informative writing, verbs, conclusions, cause and effect. The tests will be given on Friday.

Math- finishing chapter ten: Tens and Ones
Test next week

Science- Chapter 3- Light

Social Studies- Unit 3- Life Long Ago

Religion- Life of Jesus

Weekly Reader- Dr. King

News:

Happy Birthday Jordana (1/19)! We also celebrated Anaya’s birthday on January 12th!

School is closed on Monday, 1/15 in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Please send in new crayons, pencils, or glue sticks with your child if they are in need of them.
