This week we will be doing a variety of lessons and activities to start our school year off strong. It is important that students bring in a charged chromebook to school each day. Below you will find what we will be doing for each subject this week: 

 

ELA: This week we will finish Because of Winn-Dixie. For our end of book test/project we will be working on creating a digital scrapbook based on the book. Details can be found on google classroom. Our scrapbook is due on Friday 9-30. We will also be beginning unit 1 of the wonders curriculum reading our shared text, A World of Change. This text focuses on the effects of natural disasters. For grammar we will be learning about complete subjects and predicates. 

 

Math: This week in Math we will begin Module 2 focusing on Addition and Subtraction of Whole Numbers. This is a short module, there are only 4 lessons. Please remember to check google classroom for reteach pages, HW, and helpful handouts. 

 

Religion: This week we continue our unit on the 6 traits of good character in relation to the fruits of the spirit. This week we are discussing trustworthiness and citizenship. 

 

Social Studies: This week we will continue in the first chapter of S.S., The Geography of New York. We will be exploring the resources of NY state. Please be on the lookout for information on our first S.S. Project. 

 

Science: This week we will continue our first unit in science, exploring the human body. Specifically answering the question, why do biceps bulge?

Wednesday: Chapel (8:30-9:10) Spanish (9:57-10:37) P.E. (1:32-2:12) 

Thursday: Music (9:13-9:54) SEL/Critters (1:32-2:12) 

Friday: Library (11:21-12:00)

*Please wear sneakers, or leave a pair in the classroom for P.E. 

 

Lunch: 12:00-12:30 Recess 12:40-1:10
