It is hard to believe that we are already in the first week of October! As the weather is beginning to get chillier please be sure to send your child to school with an appropriate jacket for recess. It is important that students bring in a charged chromebook to school each day. Below you will find what we will be doing for each subject this week:

ELA: This week we will continue with Unit 1 week 2 of the Wonders curriculum. In writing we will begin to analyze student argumentative writing samples, as we prepare to begin writing them in the next 2 weeks. We will also complete Unit 2 of the Vocabulary book. Please be aware that we will begin having a reading log that is due on Friday weekly.

Math: This week in Math we finish Module 2 focusing on Addition and Subtraction of Whole Numbers. This was a short module, with only 4 lessons. Please remember to check google classroom for reteach pages, HW, and helpful handouts. There will be a quiz on Monday and a test on Tuesday. Quiz corrections will be due on Tuesday. We will also begin Unit 2, Module 1 exploring multiplication and division.

Religion: This week we finish our unit on the 6 traits of good character in relation to the fruits of the spirit. This week we are connecting our 6 traits of good character to the fruits of the spirit.

Social Studies: This week we begin Chapter 2, Three Worlds Meet, exploring New York Native Americans, and explorers. Please be on the lookout for information on our first S.S. Project. All needed information can be found on the Google Classroom, and paper copies were sent home. Our New York State Float is due Friday, October 14th.

Science: This week we will continue our first unit in science, exploring the human body, specifically exploring the human eye.

I am looking forward to a fantastic week with a fabulous group of fourth graders.

Blessings,
