The 4th graders have a busy week ahead! Please take a moment to review what we will be covering over this week. Please note that Trimester 1 is over on Friday December 2nd. It is important that students bring in a charged chromebook to school each day.

Our Physical Education Special on Tuesday has been moved to Thursdays at 10:40-11:20 for the month of December. Please be sure that your child wears sneakers on Wednesday’s and Thursday’s for December.

As the weather begins to get colder please ensure that your child is bringing an appropriate jacket to school each day. We will be going outside every day we can, it is important that your child is dressed appropriately.

Below you will find what we will be doing for each subject this week:

ELA: This week in ELA, we will be starting Unit 2 of the Wonders Curriculum. We will be reading 2 texts. Animal Adaptations, and Spiders. We are continuing to work on the skill of summarizing, focusing on summarizing in non-fiction texts.

Math: This week in math we will begin module 8 in IntoMath, multiplying multi-digit numbers. We will be using standard algorithms to solve these multiplication problems. It is essential that your child knows and is confident in practicing their multiplication facts. Please check the google classroom for additional resources, such as reteach pages and HW pages.

Religion: This week we will continue our unit on Prayer. We will also begin to prepare for the season of Advent.

Social Studies: This week we begin Chapter 4, The Revolutionary War in New York State. Specifically we will be learning about the reasons why the revolution occurred, and how it began.

Science: This week we will continue our current unit, The Birth of Rocks, exploring the question Why do some volcanos explode? We will be recreating a volcano explosion, be sure to check talking points for some exciting science pictures!
