The 4th graders have a busy week ahead! Please take a moment to review what we will be covering over this week. It is important that students bring in a charged chromebook to school each day.

This is a short week. School will be closed on Thursday November 24th and Friday November 25th for Thanksgiving. We will be having our school wide Thanksgiving Day fest on Wednesday November 23rd.

Below you will find what we will be doing for each subject this week:

ELA: This week in ELA, we will be taking our first ELA test on 11-21 and 11-22. The test is reading comprehension with questions about the skills reviewed in this unit. We will also be reading A Plump and Perky Turkey by Teresa Bateman which correlates with our science lesson for the week. Students will be writing opinion based persuasive letters to convince the art judge that their turkey should win.

Math: This week in Math we will complete module 6-7 in IntoMath. It is essential that your child knows and is confident in practicing their multiplication facts. Please check the google classroom for additional resources. There will be a quiz on 11-21 and a test on 11-22.

Religion: This week we will continue our unit on Prayer.

Social Studies: This week we continue Chapter 3, A Growing Colony, learning about the early settlers in New York. Our S.S. project is due on Tuesday 11-22, students have been working on completing their project in school.

Science: This week we will be completing a STEAM project called A Plump and Perky Turkey. Students are challenged to build a turkey with the given materials that can stand up on its own. I am looking forward to seeing the students’ creative and innovative thinking.

I am looking forward to a fantastic week with a fabulous group of fourth graders. Please have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your families.

Blessings,
Ms. Stainkamp
