Hello fabulous fourth grade families,
It is crazy to think that we are already approaching Thanksgiving. I would like to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving. This week we will be doing a variety of lessons and activities to wrap up our learning before a much deserved break.
Below you will find what we will be doing for each subject this week:
ELA: This week in ELA we will be finishing the second book of the Spiderwick Series. We will be competing a choice board as a closing activity. In writing we will continue to write our argumentative essay answering the question: Should people be forced to evacuate during a natural disaster?
Math: This week in math we finish Modules 6/7, dividing by 1 digit numbers. We will not be using IntoMath. We will be learning how to do standard division. Be sure to check google classroom for helpful handouts and videos. Please encourage your child to use graph paper to help them line up their columns. There is a math test on Monday 11-20. We will practice our multiplication skills and review past math skills as well to boost student comprehension.
Religion: This week we will continue our study of the old testament lessons, focusing on Genesis chapters 1-2. As well as talk about what it means to be thankful, and ways we can show thankfullness.
Social Studies: This week in S.S. we will continue our second chapter of S.S.: Three Worlds Meet. We will be focusing on The Dutch and the English.
Science: In science we will be completing 2 STEAM activities, both in the STEAM lab as well as the classroom. Our activities are based upon the books, Balloons Over Broadway, and The Plump and Perky Turkey.
Blessings,
Ms. Stainkamp
