Hello fabulous fourth grade families,
It is crazy to think that we are in our first full week of May!
Please remember that on Wednesday, May 8th we will be going on our final field trip to the Waterfront Center. We will be leaving Trinity by bus at 9am and will be returning around 1pm. We will be eating lunch at the Waterfront Center. Students must bring their lunch in their lunch boxes. Students must also wear sneakers and their uniform to the Waterfront Center.
ELA: This week in ELA we will continue reading our next class read aloud, Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, by Judy Blume. We will begin a novel study focusing on revisiting skills taught throughout the year and applying them to authentic literature. In writing we will be beginning our fictional narrative writing. Students can write a narrative about anything that they choose.
Math: This week in math we will start module 17, two-dimensional figures, and begin Module 18, symmetry and patterns. This is another quick chapter. As always, please see the resources on google classroom. There will be a quiz on Monday May 6th, and a test on Tuesday May 7th for Module 17.
Religion: In Religion we will continue learning about the Parables of Jesus.
Social Studies: This week in S.S. will continue Chapter 6 – Social Change and the Civil War. There will be a Social Studies vocabulary quiz on Friday May 10th. Words were distributed last week.
Science: In science we will continue to learn about the human body as we make our life size human bodies. We should be finished with our life-sized human bodies by the end of this week! Be sure to be on the lookout for them coming home!
Blessings,
Ms. Stainkamp
