Hello Fabulous Fourth Grade Families!

Please take a moment to review what we will be covering over this week. It is important that students bring in a charged chromebook to school each day.

Our Physical Education Special on Tuesday has been moved to Thursdays at 10:40-11:20 for the month of March. Please be sure that your child wears sneakers on Wednesday’s and Thursday’s. We will be going outside every day we can, it is important that your child is dressed appropriately.

Below you will find what we will be doing for each subject this week:

ELA: This week in ELA we will be beginning Unit 3 of the Wonders curriculum. We will be focusing on the skill of point of view and perspective. We will be using the following shared texts: Partaking in Service, and Aguinaldo. We will also be reading Cinderella from various perspectives and comparing how a person’s view can greatly effect their interpretation of events. In grammar we are continuing our study of verbs, focusing on progressive form and irregular verbs.

Math: This week in math we will begin working in module 13, Using Fractions to Understand Angles. We will be completing a project using our protractors that will be counted as a quiz. We will be going through this project step by step Monday and Tuesday. Our Module 13 quiz will be on 3-10 and our test will be on 3-13. Please remember to check google classroom for reteach pages, HW, helpful handouts, and videos. Students are encouraged to practice their fact fluency each night. It is vital that students are familiar and comfortable with their multiplication facts.

Religion: This week we are continuing our unit on the Life of Jesus. We will be talking about his life and his ministries.

Social Studies: We will be continuing Chapter 6, Social Change and the Civil War. We will also be continuing our second I Survived read aloud, I Survived the Battle of Gettysburg.

Science: This week we are continuing our unit, Energy Everywhere. We will be investigating our next question, why are some sounds high and some sounds low?

I am looking forward to a fantastic week with a fabulous group of fourth graders.

Blessings,

Ms. Stainkamp
