We have an exciting week planned ahead! We will be going to the Scholastic Book Fair on Wednesday March 30th at 9:30am. We will also have an assembly on Friday from Young Audeinces.
This week we will be focusing on the following topics in each subject listed below.
ELA- This week we will be beginning our new class read-aloud, I Survived the American Revolution, by Lauren Tarshis. This novel tells the story of Nathaniel Fox’s unintentional involvement in the Revolutionary War. There will be a spelling quiz on Friday.
Math- This week we continue chapter 10 two-dimensional shapes. Splash Learning is a great tool to help practice new math skills. Please continue to work with your child on fact fluency. As always, the Reteach and HW pages will be available on Google Classroom.
Social Studies- This week we will finish chapter 4, The Revolutionary War in New York State. There will be a Test on Friday. A review sheet will be going home on Monday and Tuesday.
Science– We will begin our New Unit, Energizing Everything. On Wednesday we will begin a STEAM project about creating low energy use water filters, after reading The Water Princess by Susan Verde.
Religion- This week we will be focusing on the importance of prayer. Each day I continue to challenge the class to do at least one act of kindness every day during lent. Each day students will be challenged to add one link to the class kindness chain.
Please always reach out if you have any questions or concerns. The best way to reach me is through talking points, and I am looking forward to an amazing week learning with an amazing class.
