Hello Fabulous Fourth Grade Families!

Please take a moment to review what we will be covering over this week. It is important that students bring in a charged chromebook to school each day. Our Physical Education Special on Tuesday has been moved to Thursdays at 10:40-11:20 for the month of March. Please be sure that your child wears sneakers on Wednesday’s and Thursday’s. We will be going outside every day we can, it is important that your child is dressed appropriately.

Below you will find what we will be doing for each subject this week:

ELA: This week in ELA we will be continuing our biography study of Steve Irwin. We are focusing on note taking and using a timeline. For writing we will be working on writing our argumentative essay answering the question: Would you like to live in a tiny house?. In grammar we are starting our study of adjectives, focusing on an, a and the.
Math: This week in math we will finish working in module 14, adding and subtracting fractions with like denominators. Our test will be on Monday 3-27. We will also begin module 15 adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers with like and unlike denominators. Please remember to check google classroom for reteach pages, HW, helpful handouts, and videos. Students are encouraged to practice their fact fluency each night. It is vital that students are familiar and comfortable with their multiplication facts.

Religion: This week we are beginning our unit on Lent.

Social Studies: We will be starting Chapter 7, New York Transforms.

Science: This week we are beginning our unit, Energizing Everything. We will be observing a Rube Goldberg Machine, and learning about how energy transfers from one thing to another.

I am looking forward to a fantastic week with a fabulous group of fourth graders.

Blessings,
