Hello Fabulous Fourth Grade Families!

It is crazy to think that we have made it to the last full week of school! Please ensure that your child comes dressed in their field day color on Tuesday, with a water bottle, and wearing sunscreen for Field Day!

We will be completing the end of the year benchmarks on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Please ensure your child comes to school with a good breakfast ready to do thier best!

Please take a moment to review what we will be covering over this week. It is important that students bring in a charged chromebook to school each day. We will be going outside every day we can, it is important that your child is dressed appropriately.

As a reminder, our P.E. period has been moved from Thursday to Tuesday. We will have P.E. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for the remainder of the school year.

Below you will find what we will be doing for each subject this week:

ELA: This week in ELA we will be starting our final class read-aloud, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. We will be focusing on the author’s purpose and strengthening our reading comprehension and vocabulary. We will be having spelling words from our novel, with a test on 5-9. Please be sure to study words each night to be prepared. In writing we will be continuing writing our personal narratives. We will be working on writing a draft this week, and our final draft will be due on June 5th. In grammar we will start Unit 5, Pronouns.

Math: This week in math we will finish module 20, Relative Size of Metric Measurement. (Shh… I have decided to cancel the quiz and test for Module 20) Please remember to check google classroom for reteach pages, HW, helpful handouts, and videos. Students are encouraged to practice their fact fluency each night. It is vital that students are familiar and comfortable with their multiplication facts.

Religion: This week we will continue our study of the Armor of God found in Ephisians 6:10-18.

Social Studies: In S.S. continue to work on our final in class project. This will be a group project focused on modern government using the book For Which We Stand: How our Government Works and Why it Matters by Jeff Foster. We will be working on this project in school and it will be due on June 12th. We will also be presenting our findings on June 12th and 13th.

Science: We will contuine our final STEAM project this week, creating a motion machine. Thank you to everyone for sending in materials to help your child complete this project, I cannot wait to see how students demonstrate their understanding of energy!

Blessings,
Ms. Stainkamp
