Hello Fabulous Fourth Grade Families, 

It’s hard to believe that it is already the first week in June. This Friday, June 6th is Field Day from 9:00am-11:00am.

Below you will find what we will be doing for each subject this week:  

ELA: In ELA we will continue reading our class Read-Aloud, The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. There will be a Spelling Test on 6-5. In grammar we will continue learning about adjectives, adverbs, and prepositions. In writing we will finish our unit on narrative stories. We will also finish our Flat Stanley Narrative Writing. We will be sharing our final stories on Friday afternoon. 

We will also be completing sections of the End of Year ELA benchmark, and Fontas and Pinnel reading tests throughout the week. 

Math: This week in math we will begin review for the End of the Year Math benchmark, as well as complete an elapsed time project planning a day at the zoo. We will be taking the End of year math benchmark on Tuesday June 10th. 

Religion: This week we will be learning about the miracles of Jesus.   

Social Studies: We will begin learning about chapter 7, New York Transforms. We will begin our study of the late 1800’s and early 1900’s New York City and Ellis Island. Our final S.S. project on Ellis Island will be due on 6/11.  

Science: This week we will finish the unit of science, Energizing Everything. There will be a science test on 6-3. A review sheet will be completed this week. Students will also continue working in groups to build their own chain reaction machines.
