Hello fabulous fourth grade families,
This week is a short week. There will be no school Monday for observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Below you will find what we will be doing for each subject this week:

ELA: This week in ELA we will be starting our next class read-aloud- I Survived the American Revolution, 1776. We will be working on characterizing several of the characters including Nate, as he finds himself in the middle of the revolutionary war. We will be finishing our study of nouns. In writing we continue to work on our opinion/argumentative writing answering the question, Did the patriots make the right decision?

Math: This week in math we begin module 11, Fractions Equivalence and Comparison. This is our first unit with fractions. Students will be given a set of fraction strips to help them with their classwork adn schoolwork. Please ensure these come to school each day as we will be using them in school. As always it is important to continue to review fact fluency at home to reinforce the skills taught in school. As always helpful videos and resources can be found on Google Classroom.

Religion: In Religion we will finish our study of Genesis beginning our study of Moses and the 10 Commandments.

Social Studies: This week in S.S. continue our study of the American Revolution! Please continue to work with your child to help them complete their Revolution Bottle Biography Project. This project will be counted as 2 projects, one for the project and one for the presentation. Projects are due on Wednesday January 24th. We will be presenting on January 25-26.

Science: In science we will continue our second unit of study, Waves of Sound. We will be focusing on the question: What would happen if you screamed in space?

Blessings,
Ms. Stainkamp
