Hello fabulous fourth grade families,

ELA: This week in ELA will be focusing on readings “Rescue at Sea.” We will be working on the skills of summarizing, and problem and solutions. There will be a comprehension quiz on Friday about “Rescue at Sea.” In grammar we will be learning about contractions with not. In writing we will begin writing personal narratives. We will also be continuing to read our next class read aloud, The Report Card by Andrew Clements. There will be a spelling test on Friday 4-26 for The Report Card Spelling Words.

Math: This week in math we will complete Module 15, Adding and Subtracting Mixed Numbers with like and unlike denominators. Please see Google Classroom for important videos and handouts. There will be a math quiz Thursday 4-18 and test Friday 4-19.

Religion: In Religion we will continue learning about the Armor of God.

Social Studies: This week in S.S. will start Chapter 6 – Social Change and the Civil War. We will be learning about the changes that technology had on New York City and about industrialization and immigration in the 1800’s.

Science: In science we will begin our next unit of study, the human body. Each week we will be exploring a new system in the human body. We will be starting to make our life size human bodies.
