We have an exciting short week planned ahead! Just a reminder, school will be closed from April 13th to April 24th for Easter Vacation. This week we will be focusing on the following topics in each subject listed below.
ELA- This week we will finish our class read-aloud, I Survived the American Revolution, by Lauren Tarshis. This novel tells the story of Nathaniel Fox’s unintentional involvement in the Revolutionary War. There will be a vocabulary test on Tuesday 4-12 for all of our I Survived the American Revolution vocabulary words.
Math- We will not be beginning Chapter 11 until after Easter Vacation. We will be completing a mid-year math assessment to track the students growth and progress as well as working on fact fluency. Splash Learning is a great tool to help practice and review math skills, and has a great feature to help students practice their fact fluency at home. Please continue to work with your child on fact fluency.
Social Studies- This week we will continue chapter 5, A New Nation. Learning about the beginnings of the American Government, and the U.S. Constitution.
Science- We will continue our unit, Energizing Everything. We will be working on our second science lab for the unit called, What Makes a Roller Coaster Go So Fast? As well as learning about the different types of Energy.
Religion- This week we will be beginning our discussion of Holy Week in the church. We will be learning about each day’s part in the Easter narrative.
Please always reach out if you have any questions or concerns. The best way to reach me is through talking points, and I am looking forward to an amazing week learning with an amazing class.
