This week we will be focusing on the following topics in each subject listed below.

ELA-  This week we will begin our new class read aloud, Thank You Jackie Robinson, by Barbara Cohen. There will be a short comprehension quiz on Friday based on what we have read together in class. We will be having a vocabulary quiz on Friday on words pulled from the book. These same words will be next week’s spelling words. This week’s skills are identifying plot and editing our writing. We will also begin writing a personal narrative.

Math- This week we will finish chapter 7, Adding and Subtracting Fractions. Our Math Quiz will be on 2-7 and our test on 2-8.  As always, reteach pages will be posted on google classroom for additional practice. Please continue to work on fact fluency at home. We have started using Splash Learning in class, however it is an excellent resource for additional practice at home. Directions will be going home for how to connect for at home access. We will also start chapter 8, Multiplying Fractions by Whole Numbers.

Social Studies- This week we will begin chapter 4, The Revolutionary War in New York State.

Science– This week we will continue our unit of study: The Human Machine, learning about how our eyes work.

Religion- This week in religion we will be learning about the Old Testament story of Joseph and his coat of many colors, Genesis 37

Please always reach out if you have any questions or concerns. The best way to reach me is through talking points, and I am looking forward to an amazing week learning with an amazing class.
