Welcome to Mrs. Flomer’s class notes!
Spelling- Since the children will be in school for only 3 days this week, I will not be giving spelling and reading tests for lesson 9 until the week of 11/18. The words for lesson 9 are: yes, ten, let, red, bed, get. The new vocabulary (“R” book) words are: after, read, draw, was, pictures, write. The children will write all 12 spelling words 3x each for homework by Tuesday, 11/19. There will be a Spelling test on Wednesday, 11/20. We will soon be writing sentences for our spelling words. I will start out slowly!
Phonics- short e, blends with s
Language Arts- singular and plural nouns
Reading: The next story we will be reading is “Dr. Seuss”. The tests for lesson 9 will be given on Wednesday, 11/20.
Math- Chapter 4-Subtraction strategies
Religion- Daily devotions and bible stories
Science- Sounds
Social Studies- Communities
Weekly Reader- Long Ago Neighbors
1AA News
School is closed on Monday, 11/11 in observance of Veteran’s Day.
Parent/teacher conferences will be held on Thursday, 11/14. Please make sure you signed up for a conference time. I am available in the morning, afternoon or evening.
As the weather gets colder, make sure your child has enough warm outerwear as we try to go out often to give the children a chance to run around!
Please return the form with your child’s choice of meat for our Thanksgiving feast. Our school wide feast is always such a great success, and we are all looking forward to this year’s celebration. Thank you to those who are able to come and help serve that day.
