I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Here’s a look at what we will be doing this week:

SPELLING- The words for this week are:spill, grab, drop, hop, two, spin, grass, drip, lot, move. The children should write the words in their “S” books 3x each by Wednesday. Test will be given on Friday.

PHONICS- ending sounds, high frequency words and sentence writing

READING- We will read “Move It” in our reading book. The “R” book words (sight words) are: jump, run, move, too. We will learn about and write possessive’s. The reading test will be given on Friday. The comprehension part of the test will now be a cold read (a story that the children are hearing for the first time). I sent home a sample of the new test format last Friday.

MATH- Complete chapter 3 and review for the test this Thursday.

RELIGION- Bible stories about Leaders

SOCIAL STUDIES- Review the chapter on Rights and Responsibilities of Citizens

SCIENCE- Spiders

WEEKLY READER- Fire Dogs

NEWS-

The children are so excited for Orange Day and all the special treats and crafts. Check our Class DoJo for pictures from the day!
We will also be focusing on Anti-Bullying which is another reason we wore orange this Monday.

Remind your child to complete his/her homework in their neatest handwriting. We are working on forming letters correctly and it should be reinforced when doing homework.

I will not be giving homework on Monday so the children (and parents) can enjoy the evening. Many students are excited about going trick or treating. Stay safe and have fun!
