Dear Parents,

We had a great week getting ready for St. Patrick’s Day by learning all about Irish Culture! We also learned a lot about St. Patrick and why he was such an important person.  The children learned how to recognize, sound out and write the letter R for Rainbow.  They had so much fun with our science experiment on how to make a rainbow with skittles!  They also made some cute St. Patrick’s Day crafts.  We read the book “How to Catch a Leprechaun” and had so much fun making a leprechaun trap.

This week we will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a party in class.  The children will learn how to recognize, sound out and trace the letter W for Windy.  We will be learning all about the Spring season which is quickly approaching.  The children will learn about all of the things that Spring brings, such as sunny weather, windy weather, stormy weather, and rainbows.  We will do our Scholastic Weekly Reader on how we “March Into Spring!”  We will also learn about ducks and make some fun Spring crafts.

For religious instruction, we will learn how the Trinity is one God in three persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit.  The children will learn how to do the sign of the cross.
