Dear Parents,
Last week the children learned how to recognize, sound out and write the letter P for penguin and polar bear. The children learned a lot with the Scholastic, “A Puffin is Not a Penguin.” They enjoyed the interactive penguin number games on the SmartBoard. The children loved making their penguin craft out of ripped paper. We also learned about the significance of Groundhog Day.
This week the children will learn how to recognize, sound out and write the letter Q for quilt and queen. Our unit for the month of February will be “Family” and “Love.” We will also be doing a fun “brushing your teeth” science experiment since Kiddsmiles will be coming to visit ECC the following Monday and talk about the importance of dental health care.
For math instruction the children will count the valentine hearts and dot the correct number. We will also do many other fun valentine math activities.
For religious instruction, the children will learn how Jesus calls on his disciples.
