Dear Parents,
This past week we learned about Groundhog Day. We explained to the kids that if the groundhog sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter. If he doesn’t see his shadow, Spring will come sooner. We did a fun experiment with the kids by making a groundhog puppet and seeing its shadow.
This coming week, we will learn about the letter X for X-ray. The children will learn how to recognize, sound out, and trace the letter X. The dentist will come for a visit on Monday to talk to our children about dental care. The children will do a tooth cleaning craft and learn all about the healthy and unhealthy foods for your teeth. To introduce Black History Month, we will make a Martin Luther King hand print craft on Love not Hate.
For religious instruction, we will teach the kids how Jesus Blesses the Children.
IMPORTANT DATES AND REMINDERS:
- February 13th and 14th – Red Day (please dress your child in something red)
- February 17th through February 21st – NO SCHOOL for winter recess
