Dear Parents,
This past week, we introduced Black History Month by talking about Martin Luther King and made a “Love, Not Hate” hand print craft. We enjoyed our visit from the dentist and learned a lot about Dental health. The children enjoyed making the tooth cleaning craft.
This coming week, the children will learn how to recognize, sound out and trace the letter V for valentine. The children will be busy making fun, valentine craft to decorate our wall. We will also do the February Scholastic worksheet, “Open Your Heart!” and discuss ways we can open our hearts and show love. We will talk about Presidents Week by teaching the children about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln and making a craft. We will continue learning about Black History Month by introducing Mae Johnson, who was the first ever female marine at the age of 40. She was also the first African American woman to travel in space.
For religious instruction, we will teach the children how Jesus heals a paralyzed man.
