This was a wonderful week for the children and teachers as we gave thanks to God for all that we are grateful for. We spent Wednesday enjoying our Thanksgiving Feast together, laughing and enjoying each other’s company. This past week taught us to be grateful for everything we have in our lives.
Next week we will begin getting ready for the Christmas holiday. We will begin by making gingerbread crafts and gingerbread play dough. We will also make gingerbread cookies with ECC2’s class. We will read the books “Gingerbread Christmas” by Jan Brett, and “A Christmas Wish For Corduroy” by Don Freeman. We will also learn about the letter Gg for gingerbread. The children will learn how to recognize and sound out the letter Gg.
Students will continue working on their fine motor and math skills through our gingerbread math activity, “gingerbread man roll and color.”
During Jesus Time, we will learn about advent traditions and the coming of Jesus. The children will learn that the first candle, which is purple, symbolizes hope.
