Dear Parents,
It was a pleasure speaking with you all at conferences on Friday. The children have come a long way since September and we are so proud of all they have accomplished.
This past week, the children learned about penguins and blue whales. They learned how they survive in their environment in the South Pole. The children made cute crafts of penguins and blue whales to decorate our classroom. We also made homemade ice cream and it was delicious!
This coming week, we will talk to the children about kindness and make our own “kindness hearts” to prepare for Valentine’s Day. We will also learn about community helpers. We will be discussing a day in the life of a mail carrier and make our own mail carrier hats. We will also learn about Groundhog’s Day. The children will make groundhog puppets and we will show them how to see a shadow on the wall using the puppet and a flashlight.
We will learn how to recognize the letter Qq and the sound that it makes. We will also come up with other words that start with that letter.
Reminders:
- February 13th/14th – Red Day
- February 20th – 24th – NO SCHOOL for Winter Recess
Have a Blessed Day!
