Dear Parents,
It was so nice meeting with you all for Parent/Teacher conferences. We are so proud of all that the children have accomplished!
This past week, the children were busy making crafts for our Arctic Animal Unit. They learned all about polar bears and penguins! The children also learned about the cold weather and made hats and mitten crafts to decorate our room. We also learned about Martin Luther King Jr. and what an important figure in history he was.
This coming week, we will continue our unit on arctic animals by teaching the children about snowy owls and narwhals. We will also do a science experiment on how whales keep warm with their blubber. We will learn about the letter M for Martin Luther King Jr. The children will be able to recognize, sound out and trace the letter M.
For religious instruction, we will learn about the baptism of Jesus.
IMPORTANT DATES AND REMINDERS:
- February 13th and 14th – Red Day (Please dress your child in something red).
- February 17th – February 21st – NO SCHOOL for winter recess
- Please don’t forget to label your child’s clothing, hats, scarves, etc.
- If you haven’t done so already, please send in a helmet for your child so they can ride the tricycles. The weather is too cold to go outside, therefore, we will be playing or riding tricycles in the MPR each day.
Have a Blessed day!
Miss Sue & Miss Kelly
